In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, small businesses everywhere are trying to figure out how they can not only weather the storm but also how they can support the broader community. Our incredible healthcare and social workers continue to put themselves at risk for each of us, as they face uncertainty amidst a shortage of medical-grade face masks.
To do our part, we've pledged to donate 25,000 surgical masks and hand sanitiser to help aid the shortage and support those who have given us so much. Five thousand masks will go towards our clients and support coordinators, and fifteen-thousand will go to those on the front lines of the crisis in aged care and hospitals. Additionally, we've implemented COVID-19 protective initiatives for our workforce. We are encouraging employees to do what they can to reduce the spread of infection.
At AlliedHealth, our core values are fundamental to who we are as an organisation and the decisions we make. Through reflecting upon these values, we understand we must think about the broader impact of COVID-19 to come together and do what we can to get through this global crisis. While there's been protective measures and small changes in delivering our services, our mission still stands. We will continue to care and take action to ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of our personnel and our wonderful clients who continue to access our services and support.
While our efforts are a good start, we know there's more work to be done. We firmly believe that through our combined efforts, we can help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and assist those significantly affected. We're all in this together, and we encourage you to join us in supporting your communities in these difficult times. We must work to build networks of solidarity and help vulnerable and targeted communities, who continue to fight for us and those we love.
